CURRICULUM

Our Curriculum:

At Little Hills Learning Center, We take pride in offering an outstanding curriculum for children enrolled in our programs.  We understand the window of opportunity in a young child’s early years is pivotal in setting the building blocks for their future.  Our curriculum teaches children essential Life skills to be successful in their Journey ahead.

Our curriculum is specially designed by our own LHLC Management Team. Little Hills Early Reach Curriculum is a blend of widely used educational programs in the industry, but carefully selected to offer your child the foundational pillars they will utilize in their school years ahead.

Our curriculum is theme based, which is a fantastic way to make learning fun for children and teachers!  Activities are exciting to children, engaging and full of early educational content. Children are involved in letter and number recognition, counting, money concepts, telling time, site words, handwriting, hands on centers, reading, and/or comprehensive literacy readiness, art projects, science experiments, community awareness, multicultural education, and holiday celebrations.  Little Hills LC is a Christian based Learning Center who teaches through Christian morals.  There are daily activities that involve prayer before lunch, some bible stories and songs.  Children will experience a fun adventure participating in our curriculum and will love their early childhood years at Little Hills Learning Center!

INFANTS & TODDLERS

Children in the infants/toddler classrooms work on age appropriate, hands on activities. Children learn to develop safe and healthy habits, foster positive self-esteem, and have many opportunities for creative expression. The teachers support your child in developing social skills, such as sharing, cooperation, generosity, and empathy. Toddlers begin working with sign language, have an emphasis on language, begin processing cause and effect, fine and gross motor skill activities, and participate in music and art projects. Each child will receive a Daily Gram that will keep you informed of their activities and progress.

TWO-YEAR-OLDS

Children in the two-year-old classrooms continue to work on the same items as toddlers, however, they are also introduced to letters, shapes, colors, numbers, and Spanish words. The two-year-old children have daily activities involving centers that promote reading recognition, creative arts, sensory exploration, dramatic play, academic advancement, and have structured opportunity for both indoor and outdoor play. The older two’s classroom focuses more on potty training and developing self-help skills. The children in the older two’s class will receive a bi-yearly progress report during the academic school year. Each child will also receive a Daily Gram that will keep you informed of their activities and progress.

PRESCHOOL (ages 3-6)

Children enrolled in Little Hills Learning Center will be in age-appropriate classrooms. Our preschool children have the opportunity to engage in all activities the two-year-old rooms have mastered and will also be potty trained and ready to move on to pre-kindergarten, their next adventure in learning. Little Hills LC curriculum is theme based and specially designed to individualize your child’s early developmental years. Each day your child will have the opportunity to learn in whole groups, small groups, and learning center activities. Children will continue learning letters, numbers, counting, shapes, colors and Spanish words. They will also be introduced to adding, subtracting, telling time, pattern recognition, rhyming, geography, science projects, art activities, and many different educational songs. In addition, children will learn about basic health, nutrition, early culinary education and cognitive problem-solving skills. In the Little Hills LC preschool class children will strengthen their communication skills necessary for listening, reading, writing and speaking. They will also engage in activities that enhance their fine and gross motor skills.
Children who will be going to kindergarten the following year will be in one of our pre-kindergarten classrooms.
